Emirates to take delivery of new Boeing 777 freighters in 2025 and 2026

Emirates SkyCargo has announced an order for five more Boeing 777 freighters to be delivered between 2025 and 2026.

The $1 billion order will bring the airline's total order backlog to 315 wide-body aircraft.

Emirates SkyCargo's performance during the first quarter of its current 2024-25 financial year has been exceptional, with consistently high load factors and tonnage outperforming 2019.

Once in service, the new aircraft will increase available main deck cargo capacity by 30%, allowing the airline to take advantage of much-needed space in key markets and better serve global customers.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the airline and Emirates Group, said, "Demand for our world-class products and services is growing exponentially, reinforced by Dubai's economic agenda to double foreign trade and strengthen the city's position as a global business hub.

"This investment in additional Boeing 777 capacity enables us to meet customer demand and represents a step forward in our long-term strategic growth plan.

Další fáze naší strategie bude zahrnovat kompletní posouzení naší budoucí flotily nákladních letadel, které přezkoumá všechny varianty letadel, abychom byli co nejlépe vybaveni pro reakci na vyvíjející se požadavky trhu a potvrdili naši důvěru v roli letecké nákladní dopravy, a konkrétně společnosti Emirates SkyCargo, v globálním obchodu.“

Stephanie Pope, president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, said, "We are honored that Emirates SkyCargo, renowned for operational excellence and innovation, has once again selected the Boeing 777 freighter to expand the reach of its global network.

"We greatly appreciate Emirates' confidence in the Boeing wide-body family and are committed to supporting its long-term strategic growth plan."

With the phased delivery of new aircraft, the Cargo Division will retire older cargo aircraft, reinforcing the airline's commitment to operating one of the youngest and most efficient fleets in the skies.

In addition to the 10 Boeing 777Fs on order, the airline's cargo capacity will be bolstered by 10 777-300ERs that are currently being converted to freighters, bringing Emirates' freighter fleet to 17 aircraft by the end of 2025.

By leveraging Emirates' passenger fleet, the cargo division will continue to facilitate the fast, reliable and efficient transportation of goods around the world and offer customers greater flexibility with a fleet mix of 777, 777-F, 747F, A350 and A380 aircraft.
